Hi there! Can't find your questions? Ask Us!
I got an error or my set is stuck - what should I do?
We use a Shopify Discount API that is used by lots of other apps and services so when the API is under a heavy load it can cause errors and delays because it is an unstable API. While we can't do anything about this, we have built some fail-safes into the app so that if the codes cannot be created, it will time out and show the error instead of trying over and over infinitely.
Wait for the set to either finish or move to error status. If they do go to error status, a Retry button will appear that you can click to finish the creation of your codes. Thanks for your patience!
How do I add codes to an existing set?
There is no way to add codes to an existing set. If you only need to make a few new codes, we recommend doing that directly in the Shopify Discount Admin. If you need to make many more codes, you'll need to create a new set of codes.
I don't understand some of the fields when creating a discount set
We use the exact same discount settings and rules as Shopify does. You can check out our guides that explain each function:
1. Understanding discount fields
2. Shopify - Create discount codes
My imported codes have not generated. Why not?
Each discount code in Shopify must be unique. If you have used that code on this Shopify account in the past, the app will simply bypass its creation and that can result in 0 codes being generated if none of the codes were unique.
Ensure all imported codes have not been used before and are unique and you will have no issues.
What limitations does the app have?
There are only two main limitations of the app:
1. You can only use the same prefix on 3 discounts sets
2. You can only create 2 discount sets at one-time
How do I create a set of codes that can be combined with other discounts?
Create the set of codes first in MyBulk, and then once created, go to the Shopify Discount Admin, click into the newly created set, and you with see a section for combining with other discounts. Check the box(es) and save changes.
How do I add my codes to an email or newsletter?
MyBulk simply creates discount codes in bulk and allows you to export them. With that exported file, you can import your codes into most email/newsletter apps.
Some apps such as MailChimp automatically can pull these discounts from your admin without the need for exporting. For more on that, contact their support team.
Why aren't my discount balances working?
Discount codes are not gift cards - They cannot hold a balance so each use of a code is the same as the last. If you need gift cards, Shopify has you covered; you can see them here > https://help.shopify.com/manual/products/gift-card-products
What time zone are the discount sets in?
The timezone in the app and CSV is your store's local time zone. You can see what timezone your store is in by going to Settings > General in Shopify's Admin.
How do I migrate codes from the old Bulk Discount app?
You do not need to migrate codes from the old app to this app. Any codes that were active in the old app will stay active and you can see and track them in the Discount area of the Shopify Admin. You only need to use the new app when you want to create new discount sets.
I don't understand the pricing structure!
The first set of codes you make of up to 10,000 codes is totally FREE. However, that means that any amount of codes will use that offer up; if you create 500 codes, that is your free discount set and you will need to pay for the next set. 10,000 is not an allowance/quota, it is simply a maximum amount per discount set.
First Discount Set is FREE. After that, one-time payment per Discount Set:
up to 10,000 codes - $1.00
10,000 to 100,000 codes - $3.00
100,000 to 250,000 codes - $5.00
No ongoing costs.
How do I delete codes?
In the app, click the small garbage can icon to the left of your discount set and confirm the action.
I got the error "Base exceeded maximum of 20000000 discount codes permitted" - What now?
This means that you've created the Shopify maximum of 20 million discount codes (wow!) You will need to go into your Shopify Discount admin and delete old or unused codes and/or sets to free up space.
How do refunds work?
If you are given a refund, it will be sent through Shopify's Billing system. Your refund will be sent to your Shopify account and is then managed by Shopify. It typically will stay as an App Credit and be applied to future app charges on your Shopify invoice. You can read more on Shopify's Help Center.
Do you have a partner or affiliate program?
Yes! You can read more about it and contact us regarding it by checking out this page.
When is support available?
We try and answer all support requests within a day but sometimes weekend support can take longer.
How do I uninstall and cancel the app?
We're sorry to hear that you want to discontinue use of the app - if you have questions or feedback, please contact us. To delete the app, go to the Apps section of your Shopify Admin and click the garbage can icon next to the app. This will stop any ongoing billing.
